James Yoblonski was reported missing from Baraboo, Wisconsin on June 12th, 2023.
James is a white male, 5’11”, and 120 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing red shoes, an unknown shirt, and an unknown baseball cap.
Reports indicate that James was last seen at his family’s Sauk County home on Monday, June 12th.
He left his house early Monday morning in is family’s vehicle, which was later found abandoned along U.S. Highway 12 on the same day. He also took a handgun, but the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office indicate that he is not a threat to himself or others.
According to his father, James may have two survivalist books that he got as a gift. In the search for James, Law Enforcement have found several campsites that they believe James set up as part of an attempt to live “off the grid” in the woods. They have uncovered several other clues, including items like socks and a knife sheath that may belong to James.
Law Enforcement have conducted a search for James in the Devil’s Lake State Park area, but they believe that James is avoiding being found. The search effort is being adjusted to prevent James from moving further into dangerous terrain. Detectives are combing through digital and forensic evidence, looking for any clues or patterns that may determine where James is.
Searches for James have been unsuccessful and he remains missing.
